Adam Standring is a PhD candidate in political science at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, and a researcher in CesNova, holding a doctoral scholarship from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia.
He previously worked as an intern at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction in Lisbon, conducting research into conceptual understandings of Drug Mules across Europe. At the same time he was completing a Masters in Politics (by research) at the University of York with a dissertation on the Europeanization of UK drug policy.
He is currently researching processes of depoliticization/repoliticization in European drug policy and the impact of expert knowledge on national policies.
