
Sabrina Molinaro
Dr Sabrina Molinaro, PhD, Epidemiologist, is Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Health Services Research at the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IFC).
Dr Molinaro is the Coordinator of the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD), the biggest cross-national research project on adolescent substance use in the world, which since 20 years provides comparable data from more than forty European countries.
She is also the National Expert for GPS key indicator at Italian National Focal Point for EMCDDA.
She has developed and coordinates the Italian Population Survey on Alcohol and Drugs (IPSAD®), monitoring legal and illegal substance use and risky behaviours in the general population (15-74) and the student population survey ESPAD®Italia, a national survey conducted every year since 1995, investigating alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs use and risk behaviours among adolescents.
Dr Molinaro holds specific expertise in the identification and testing of innovative statistical analysis models on legal, illegal and new psychoactive substance, poly-drug use, and their relation to risk factors and lifestyle.
Her research also examines issues related to the epidemiology of internet problematic use and gambling and its policy implications, and her research activity in the addiction field is documented by several scientific publications.
